Once upon an eternity, it even used to be funny: “My friends went to … this summer and all I got was this lousy T-shirt.” While these kind of shirts aren’t likely to be found any more in the souvenir shops, the slogan remains in mind. And begs to be adapted and varied.

We are geeks and we love geeks. So we do love the big bang theory.

The sitcom abut two geeky physicians and a hot waitress is maybe only fully understandable to those who have a soft spot for geeks and basic knowledge about science, but it seems there are enough of them to make this a hit.

Everybody should know this image above: a clever represenation of how the evolving of man progressed over time. Thanks to schoolbooks it has become famous and iconic (at least as long such images can still stay there) - and thus a welcome subject of parodies and mock-ups.

As you can see, we did amuse ourselves with football jerseys. The usual combination of name + player number is not only good for marking the athletes on a football or soccer field, its typical look also yields great funny T-shirts when it’s taken a bit away from that.

40 years after: Flower Power T-Shirts

2009 sees the 40th anniversary of legendary Woodstock arts and music festival. The three (almost four) days of peace and music, mud and chaos, took a place in history.

It was the highlight of the hippy era and became the most famous festival to have ever taken place. Though its story is a story of bad management, shitty weather and things getting out of control, the people and artists made this one an unforgettable event. Some performances were the basis of whole careers (Melanie, Joe Cocker), others made music history, like Jimi Hendrix’ version of the star spangled banner.
One can remark a certain nostalgia about this era. Maybe it’s the unspoiled belief in the power of love and peace, the belief in the ability to change the world. But if not that illusion, at least the general aesthetic has survived of the hippy era. And why not?
