40 years after: Flower Power T-Shirts

Flower Power T-Shirts from £ 13.90

2009 sees the 40th anniversary of legendary Woodstock arts and music festival. The three (almost four) days of peace and music, mud and chaos, took a place in history.

It was the highlight of the hippy era and became the most famous festival to have ever taken place. Though its story is a story of bad management, shitty weather and things getting out of control, the people and artists made this one an unforgettable event. Some performances were the basis of whole careers (Melanie, Joe Cocker), others made music history, like Jimi Hendrix’ version of the star spangled banner.
One can remark a certain nostalgia about this era. Maybe it’s the unspoiled belief in the power of love and peace, the belief in the ability to change the world. But if not that illusion, at least the general aesthetic has survived of the hippy era. And why not? Among our flower t-shirts and vintage T-shirts we have quite some beautiful Flower Power T-Shirts which you can wear as a timeless statement.

40 years after: Beatles T-Shirt “Abbey Road”

Four lads, one zebra crossing: Abbey road T-Shirt from 13.90 £

It was 40 years ago today …. four men gathered on a zebra crossing.
2009 marks the 40th anniversary of the legendary “Abbey Road” album. Not only the visionary music on it has its impact until the present, the album cover itself has become an icon of pop culture. We can only speculate whether anyone expected this to happen, since its shooting was a rather spontanious idea - the Beatles didn’t want to travel to the Himalaya for the shooting as originally intended so they just left the studio, had six pictures shot by photographer Iain Macmillan and went back in again.

As time went on, the cover was often imitated and quoted, hangs as a poster in numerous households and no Beatles fan could ever leave London without posing on that famous zebra crossing. It already inspired one great party some days ago with hundreds of Beatles cosplayers gathering at the crossing. The photo also works great on a shirt, reduced to one white area - talk about iconic. 2009 is a year where the Abbey Road-T-shirt should be worn often and with pride - as the author of these very lines does right now. Find it among our music T-shirts.
