2009 sees the 40th anniversary of legendary Woodstock arts and music festival. The three (almost four) days of peace and music, mud and chaos, took a place in history.

It was the highlight of the hippy era and became the most famous festival to have ever taken place. Though its story is a story of bad management, shitty weather and things getting out of control, the people and artists made this one an unforgettable event. Some performances were the basis of whole careers (Melanie, Joe Cocker), others made music history, like Jimi Hendrix’ version of the star spangled banner.
One can remark a certain nostalgia about this era. Maybe it’s the unspoiled belief in the power of love and peace, the belief in the ability to change the world.
